Meet Liberty

Even one minute is far too long for a dog to be in a puppy mill, and unfortunately Liberty was in one for 10 years. The good thing is that Liberty has finally been afforded the chance to live out her remaining years surrounded by love— like every dog should.

She has made great strides in figuring out how to be a house dog and part of a family. She truly appreciates the simple things in life like running around in freshly cut grass, sleeping right next to your pillow, and snagging belly rubs whenever you are willing to give them out. And boy oh boy, she will reward you with an ever gleaming smile!

Liberty likes to be right next to her humans and will happily follow you in all your endeavors throughout the day. She is a champion of power naps, but will surely awaken when exciting things are happening.

Liberty has some anxiety with crate confinement, but that’s alright because she makes the best sleeping partner and never gets into anything when she is left alone in the house.

Liberty has come extremely far in learning the appropriate areas to do her business. Accidents aren’t necessarily “accidents” to puppy mill dogs like Liberty, because for 10 years it was perfectly normal behavior for her to use the bathroom in no specific place. While you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks, it is necessary to understand that learning requires patience. Liberty does best when she is set up for success and is not left for long periods throughout the day. This is why Liberty would do best in a home where someone can be with her the majority of the day or even take her on their adventures outside of the house.

Liberty is a gem, and truly deserves all the best that life has to offer!

Liberty, born in 2008, spent her entire life in a puppy mill. She is now free from that hell and is amazing, sweet, loyal and deserves a forever loving home.
