Meet Wanda--Adoption Pending
Wanda is currently living in a foster home. If interested please submit an application and we can link you up with her foster family for an intro.
Hi people! My name's Wanda. My foster dad has worked with a lot of dogs and says that I'm one of his favorites :) I'm about 4-5 years old and a mid-sized pit mix around 45 pounds. My greatest joy in life is having my belly rubbed. My other great passion is chasing frisbees. If you throw a frisbee with a friend, I will chase it until I can't run any more, even if I never catch it. I also like snuggles and making big puppy eyes. I'm pretty low-maintenance and do well with a couple walks a day and a frisbee session.
I'm fully house trained, I love my crate, and I will sit on command in low- and low/medium-distraction situations. I'm also not very destructive: in foster, I've never chewed anything I wasn't supposed to, and I've never gotten into food I shouldn't have. I'm very keyed into people, and I'm a smart girl and very receptive to training. I love training with high-value treats (my favorite is string cheese) and belly rubs.
On occasion, I'm leash-reactive, but I know that my muzzle means I'm going on a walk and I get excited when it comes out. My leash reactivity has decreased with positive reinforcement (aka string cheese) when I get nervous on walks, and I need someone who can continue to help me out with this. I also occasionally get nervous around other dogs, especially dogs who are bigger than me and/or other pit bulls. I need an environment where I won't be off-leash around other dogs, and I need you to be aware when I need to take it slow or have space from other dogs we're near, but I'm so worth it. 99% of the time, I'm just the sweetest, cuddliest girl you've ever met, and I've already made a huge amount of progress on these challenges. I can't wait for you to rub my belly!
Oh and I'm now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested. My adoption fee is $300 and if you'd like to make me your forever dog you can find an application here: http://www.onetail.org/adoption/apply/
