A Quick Look at Sasha
- 3 year old Mini Goldendoodle.
- Weight: 20 lbs.
- Fence Requirement: No e-fences will be considered.
- Coat type: wavy; low shedding coat that will require regular brushing and grooming.
- Energy level: medium with bursts of high energy!
- Dogs: yes!
- Cats: unknown; no exposure to cats
- Kids: older than 12; young children make Sasha anxious and uneasy.
- Type of house: Sasha would not fit in well in an apartment setting due to her "alarm" barking.
Sasha is a female Mini-Goldendoodle. She is a very sweet dog and a loyal companion. Her owners loved her so much but Sasha was not compatible with the newborn in her home. She never showed any aggression toward anyone in the past, but she was very apprehensive and anxious around the baby. They were concerned that Sasha may become aggressive toward their baby. She showed signs of aggressive behavior that made them uneasy (growling, tail down, uneasy, anxious when the baby is around).
Sasha will do great in a home with older kids who can give her lots of love, attention, play, and exercise. Sasha is very loving and loyal. She follows her foster mom around all day.
She is very energetic and playful…she loves to snuggle, but also loves to play and run. Sasha is pretty laid back for most of the day, but when she's on her "energy high", she's all puppy. She absolutely loves everyone!
She has had obedience training and knows the commands: sit, down, off. Her favorite thing to do right now is walk the mile walk to her foster’s mailbox and back. She loves it and gets excited to see her leash. She knows ‘heel’ but would benefit from continued practice.
Sasha is crate-trained. If she knows we're home and she has to be in there, she will whine until we let her out; otherwise, she goes in with no problems whatsoever. She'll even go in there and lie down sometimes if we're nearby. She crates at night on command with no whining until it is time to wake up.
She has gone to doggy daycare and had a blast. She gets along great with her foster dog sibling and had a dog in her prior home and got along great with him as well.
Sasha is an"alarm barker"; she will bark if the doorbell rings, if someone walks by the house, or if something startles her (e.g., neighbor moving his garbage bins outside makes a lot of noise and she barks at that). She will bark to get our attention when we get home if she's still in the crate and not let out right away, but will stop if we ignore the barking.
Sasha is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. She is house-trained. Sasha is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm, flea and tick preventatives.
Adoption fee: $425
OUR ADOPTION FEES RANGE FROM $100 - $750 depending on the dog. The following is a general guide, but each dog is assessed individually.
It currently costs us an average of over $400 for basic vet, grooming and foster care on each dog, but that does not allow for the ones who get sick, need surgery or are heartworm positive.
