Meet Hansen
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.
Hansen is a darling 14 pound, 8 (?) year old Poodle mix who reminds us of a YorkiePoo. Whatever designer breed he is, he is mostly Toy Poodle with a sweet and charming personality. He should be non shedding and will need routine grooming. He just arrived in our rescue so he is still looking a little scraggly in his photos but he will be super cute when he is all cleaned up.
He was found as a stray and seems to be used to living in a home. He waits to potty until he is outside, he uses the doggie door in his kennel without a problem, and he is super happy to see the collar and leash come out and he twirls with joy when asked if he wants to go for a walk. He is probably already housetrained but we have not tested him in a home setting and he would need to learn his new routine and schedule.
He is friendly and pretty easy going. This cuddly little guy makes new people friends easily and gives kisses to new friends.
Hansen does not seem to be used to playing with toys or maybe he is just more of a laid back kind of guy who does not care that much for such silliness.
He does enjoy going for walks and definitely still has a nice spring in his step so he will be happy to go on neighborhood walks with you. He will enjoy outings but does not seem like a high maintenance kind of guy who will need a lot of exercise. We are betting Hansen is a bit of a homebody who will cherish his new family and just want to hang out with them.
This super sweet, well mannered boy should fit well into most any household but there should not be small children in his home since he can get grumpy or uncertain in new situations. He did not like being groomed by our unfamiliar groomer and got nippy. We do not know how he might react to a child pestering him. He can nervously growl a little if someone he does not totally trust is doing something to him that makes him uncertain. He should be fine around trusted people.
He should be perfectly fine as an only dog. He will do best with an experienced owner.
Hansen does have some eye clouding so his vision is probably not perfect but he gets around just fine and does not seem to have any limitations yet. He has good eye contact and walks around new places with confidence. We will have our vet check his eyes to see if he needs any treatment such as eye drops.
