Meet Archer
Breed: Cocker Spaniel / Poodle mix (Cockapoo)
Age: 4 yrs.
Weight: 18 lbs.
Good with dogs: Can be dominant with certain dogs
Good with cats: no
Good with kids: no
Energy level: high
Good with men/strangers: Better with female visitors
Hypoallergenic: yes
Special home requirements or medical: None
Additional info: Archer went into the shelter as a stray. He was extremely scared upon intake, but has really opened up and will now approach people and give kisses. He is high energy, very vocal and loves attention. Beware. Archer is an extreme kisser!!! He can be a little aggressive with certain dogs and can be pushy with people for attention. We do not recommend him for a home with small kids because of his bite history and past aggression. He may not be the best apartment dog due to his barking; he alarm barks at certain strangers approaching.
Disclaimer: although Archer is generally good with people and letting them pet him he did nip a stranger when he was leashed. For this reason he must be in a home with no kids and an experienced owner who is skilled at introducing dogs to strangers. We can also help with providing this knowledge. He bonds well if he is in a home where there has been a male from the beginning but can show fear aggression with visiting men.
