This beautiful girl came to us all the way from Iran on July 2. Honey has a beautiful, gentle, mellow personality. She was non-reactive to other dogs when she was in Iran. However since arriving in Los Angeles, she has started to exhibit reactivity to other dogs in the home and has become territorial and possessive to other dogs in her foster home as well as being nippy and growly with her foster mom. We are hoping that she is suffering a little PTSD from the flight which will fade as she was a gentle, lovely dog who got along really well with other dogs and people before she came here. She is sleeping a lot and needs lots of long naps so she might be recovering from the move to another country. She is also suffering separation anxiety at the moment which is unusual for her. She can be shy when initially approached by strangers but she warms up quickly. For now we do not recommend her for a home with young kids. Honey needs a patient, experienced hand who can read her body language when meeting strangers and help her recapture her formerly sunny nature and get her confidence back.
