Meet Cookie
Cookie was adopted from us a few weeks ago, but was very nervous and scared in her new home, so she has been returned to us. She has been through a lot of changes in her short life and will need a calm and patient owner without young children willing to give her time to settle in and adjust. She is a super sweet, adorable and playful girl once she gets to know you.
Cookie is a little 1 1/2 year old female Chihuahua that lost her first home when her owner got sick, and her second home when the owner's daughter who had taken her in had to move to a place that didn't allow pets. She really likes other small dogs, especially her new friend, Bill, but is not suitable for a family with kds younger than thirteen. She is an adorable and playful tail wagging pup and our volunteers are crazy about her. She likes to sit in laps and enjoys attention, but is nervous around all the barking at the Shelter.
If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website: http://medfieldshelter.com/dog_applications/new
If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Cookie's adoption fee is $200. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
