Meet Scout

This handsome, sweet boy is a laid-back 3 year old. When you come home he tells you about his day in his soft little voice. He's also a good listener if you want to tell him about your day. He has become a lap cat, and does like to share your bed if you want him to. Mostly he's happy just being with you and to get ear/head scratches. He looks a bit bigger than his 12 lbs.but that's because he's a fluffy medium-hair cat, and the camera really does add extra pounds! Scout clearly had a home at one time because he's very people-oriented - he rubs up against your legs to show that he's grateful to be rescued.

Scout was picked up by animal control and it was obvious that he was having it rough living outside. He does have a few marks on his face that would suggest that because he's such a low-key guy, it's probably why the other cats outdoors were not nice to him. He was fine with another cat in his foster home - they just hung out. Scout did test positive for FIV, but it's VERY hard for one cat to give it to another, and it is not transferable to dogs, other pets, or humans. Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system. If properly cared for, Scout can live a full and happy life as long as he is always kept indoors.

Scout would love to lump out on your sofa and snooze away in the sunlight on his favorite blanket while you are out. He likes to look out the window, or enjoy the summer breeze in front of the deck slider where he watches the birds. He is not at all anxious to actually go outside. Quick movements by young kids would startle him, but he'd be OK with older children.
