I am located in Billings Montana (Charlie is currently being fostered in Sheridan Wyoming) but WILL TRAVEL FOR THE RIGHT HOME. Meet Charlie. He is approximately five years old, And believed to be a Cockapoo. Charlie has apparently had a very rough life. We don't know what happened to him but he is very fearful. It seems as though he has been abused or kept in a cage for the first 3 years of his life with little positive interaction. He seems to do just fine with other dogs but would do best in a home where he only had to share with one other small dog. He is also good with cats. He would prefer a quiet home with a female owner who is not gone all the time. He is looking for a calm, patient, loving and empathetic person who can provide a stable home and will love him FUREVER! He needs to be in a home where there is a fenced yard and with someone who is able to take him for walks. Although he is okay around children, he would prefer to live in a home where children are just occasional visitors. Although he likes to be near you, he sometimes likes to be alone and will go find a quiet place to be by himself. He needs someone who is able and willing to work with him so he feels more comfortable being around people instead of hiding from those who aren't his "favorite". If there is more than one person in the house, he may hide a lot when the person who is not his "favorite" is home. He is generally a calm, quiet dog and he will need a calm owner as well. If he feels threatened he will attempt to protect himself. Charlie has been wearing a belly band because, for some reason he occasionally feels like he needs to mark his territory in the house. The belly band is really not that big of a deal. When he comes inside you just wrap it around his belly and Velcro it on the top and when he goes outside you take it off.. He is truly a very sweet, lovable, darling dog. He just has a few little issues that shouldn't be a problem for that special person out there who can love him and protect him from what he perceives to be a scary world. He is neutered, up to date on shots and has recently been microchipped! He needs to be groomed approximately 3 ro 4 times a years.
