RAMSEY is a male Black Lab/Border Collie mix estimated at 2 yrs of age. Ramsey was abandoned by his owners when they fled the state and left Ramsey and his mate, Raina who is very pregnant, in the cold without food or shelter to fend for themselves. We question every day why people get a dog only to not be responsible enough to take care of him or her. In this case,both. And they obviously didn't believe in spaying or neutering as neither Ramsey nor Raina was spayed or neutered. If they had of been, Raina would not be about ready to bring more puppies into an already overcrowded situation. Ramsey is a little timid at first and who can blame him? Anyone in his position would be a little timid. He has gone from the only home he knew (even though it wasn't the best situation for him...he still misses his family. Again, unconditional love) to a very crowded shelter with lots of barking and stress. Ramsey will take treats from your hands. He does warm up quickly. He just needs a special someone to show him his life can be different and full of love and joy. Ramsey weighs about 45 lbs. He has a black coat with white feet, chest and a white blaze and white around his nose. He has some slight black freckling in the white areas. He is good with other dogs as well. Ramsey is up to date of vaccinations and wormings and will be neutered prior to leaving the shelter.
