Meet Opie

Meet Opie! Opie is as sweet as they come! He is a 10 year old Pug that just loves people and being cuddled by humans. Opie is looking for one last home to retire in - a home that will love him despite the fact that he's blind. Opie is housebroken and rarely barks. He has picked up basic commands well and is learning more! He is about 10 years old and 24 pounds (though he could stand to lose a few!).

Why should you adopt a blind dog? And more specifically Opie? Well, Opie can do most things any other low-energy dog can do. He can go for walks, cuddle, play... Just because he can't see does not mean that he's resigned to doing nothing. Opie is also very adaptive, as most blind dogs. He is learning commands such as "step" and is finding his way around his foster home just fine. Sure, he's had a couple nose bumps on furniture, but it just teaches him that he needs to go around that piece a different way.

Who shouldn't adopt a blind dog? Someone that won't have faith that Opie is as loving, fun and capable as any other dog.

Having a blind dog will give you rewards that you never thought possible. Opie will teach his forever family what being independent, resilient and loyal looks like. He will also teach you how to love life despite life's curveballs.
