Meet Rocky (FIV+)
Meet Rocky!
This friendly black panther kitty was found wandering around an apartment complex looking for meals. When we neutered him, we found out that he has FIV, feline immunodeficiency virus, similar to HIV/AIDs in people. Its a cat-only disease so he cannot give it to you or dogs or any other species, just cats. It usually takes a deep bite wound, such as when intact males fight, to spread the disease to another cat. He needs to be kept indoors and separate from other cats (or with other cats who have FIV). Well cared for, cats with FIV can live a normal life but when they get sick they have a harder time fighting off illness due to having a weak immune system.
Rocky does not come to our adoption events at Petsmart. But with an approved adoption application, we can set up a chance to meet this big hunk of kitty love. He really is a sweet guy. Adoption fee $40.
