Tanya Chihuahua Los Angeles, CA

Tanya is a sweet red Chihuahua with cute floppy ears, about 3 years old and 7 lbs. She is extremely affectionate, intelligent, and very loyal. She will nuzzle by your side on the couch, curl up with you in bed, and will follow you everywhere. She is well behaved in the home, leash trained, potty-trained and knows SIT. She does need access to the outdoors every 3-4 hours or she may have an accident in the house out of boredom. She enjoys her crate. When she first came to foster she was fearful and aggressive with strangers, men and other dogs; she barked if left alone and at other dogs on the street. She has improved tremendously, but the fear of men and strangers is still an issue. She is not a chewer and not picky about food, although she is possessive about her toys but not aggressive. She takes direction well and is very curious. Tanya loves to fetch balls, and she will hide her toys in her bed. She is ok with other small dogs and will hang out with them, but will growl if she sees them from a distance. She can be a little aggressive with visitors to the home, but her foster mom is working with a dog trainer to help her though this. Tanya can be an active dog and loves to go on long walks/ hikes. Tanya is an affectionate snuggle bunny when she knows you. We think she would do best in a calm home environment with no children. She requires an experienced owner as she can nip when scared.
