CHIP HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY HIS FOSTER MOM ANABEL WHO HAS FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS LITTLE BOY WHO IS ALL CORGI.

Chip update Oct 20, 2014: I met Chip for the First time at the NC Corgi Picnic and he is absolutely striking...a beautiful face, expressive eyes and a face that speaks volumes. He was somewhat interested in the 150+ corgis milling around at the picnic but more of a people dog. Sadly, He has said Good by to Foster Joanne and is with a Cardigan Show Breeder who has also had experience with downer dogs. She has three seniors in carts. Chip has adjusted beautifully, no issues with her dogs and alot would depend on the demeanor of the other dogsin your household. He's not real fond of big dogs but on day 2, he was chasing the ball and Annabel's 4 yr old cardi pup all over the back yard.
We need a family or individual who is a seasoned Corgi owner and knows about Downer Dogs.

HAVE YOU SEEN FOLKS WHO ARE DISABLED AND QUICKLY LOOK AWAY OR FEEL SORRY FOR THEM? .HE IS A SPECIAL NEEDS BOY IN A CART BUT HAS THE TYPICAL CORGI PERSONALITY AND ACTS LIKE A 4 YEAR OLD!!! CORGIS BEING LOW RIDERS OFTEN CAN HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR HIPS AND THIS LITTLE BOY BLEW A DISC AND IT WAS TOO LATE FOR SURGERY...........

UPDATE: Chip is ready for his forever home. Not that it matters, he comes from show quality lines and is absolutely striking. Thanks to the outstanding care given by his Foster Mom,Joanne Leister, she was a vet tech at NCSU and specialized in dogs with Spinal Mobility Problems. He is now in a cart and has signed up for the Boston Marathon. He is full of himself and you wouldn't know that his back end doesn't communicate with his front end. He is very very bright, a snuggle bunny and wants your attention. At 7 years young, he has many good years ahead of him and Corgis in Carts can lead normal lives with some special attention. True to the corgi attitude, he has a big dog personality in a little body- he has chased Joanne's German Shepherd, Lab and Heeler nipping them and saying I'M THE BOSS.e He is located in Virginia Fenced yard is needed. HISTORY
I received a call from a Vet at Hilton Head Island about this 7 yr old lovely who came in from a boarding
facility next door. His 73 yr old owner was not able to bear the cost of any expenses to do an MRI,surgery, etc He had lost use of his back legs and was able then to scoot around the office on his front legs. I found a Foster Angel in NC who worked at NC State Univ as a Vet Tech with Dogs with Spinal Mobility Issues.God is Good. He was rushed to NC State University Vet School on May 24, 5 days after 'his accident' Sadly, timing is critical if
surgery is to be performed and he was not a candidate. He has ruptured several discs and based on his motivation, would be a wonderful candidate for a cart.. ,
Corgis in Carts can lead normal lives but may need some extra care with expressing the bladder and keeping them clean.
