Our sweet Amber is a very timid girl who takes a while to trust. It is pretty obvious that someone abused her prior to her rescue. Amber has 2 sides. The first side she shows is the frightened girl who needs to assess if you are safe and won't hurt her. The other side is a bouncy, playful, delightful girl who wants to do no wrong and lives to please you. Perfectly house trained, perfectly crate trained, great with all the other dogs in her foster home, excellent house manners...that's Amber. Amber needs to be allowed to size things up and be the initiator of contact at her own pace and comfort level when in a new situation. Once she feels it's safe, she offers the sweetest, most gentle kisses to your hand. Amber is fragile from her history and may always be frightened in new situations or with new people. She would thrive in a quiet home in which there is another dog as a companion for her and from whom she can draw confidence. A 6 foot privacy fence will be required with the entire perimeter ground surface secured. Amber does not do well living in a home with men; male visitors are ok because she can avoid them.
