Teddy: a sports guy with a gung-ho attitude to life!
A hound mix born August 7, 2013, in Tennessee, Teddy is 55lbs and very healthy. He was
originally adopted by a college student who taught Teddy that people are great, but discovered he
couldn’t manage full-time dog ownership.
Teddy overflows with joy and affection. At the dog park, he greets all the humans, one after
another. He’s careful with children and loves being manhandled by preschoolers. If you want a
family dog, he just may be perfect for you.
Teddy loves meeting dogs at the park an in public, and loves to play with dogs. He would, however, be best as an only dog for his family.
Everyone will probably be happier if he doesn’t live with cats.


Without this sort of temptation, Teddy doesn’t bark as much as many hounds. Also, unlike most, he
has a choppy bark and only very rarely does that baying thing hounds usually do.
Don’t let Teddy’s athletic style fool you. He has a soft heart and is eager to please. He is
responsive to correction; overcorrection hurts his feelings. He will be utterly devoted to you
and hopes you’re home a lot. When you are sitting still, he’ll snuggle as close as you let him. He is of
moderate intelligence and high curiosity. He’s food motivated and loves training “games.” He thinks
ice cubes are amazing and, given the chance, will get right in the shower with you to see what’s going
on. He’s past the highest-maintenance puppy days but is still figuring out the world. Given plenty of
exercise, he will readily adapt to your home. At the end of each exciting day, Teddy settles happily in
his kennel and passes out until the fun starts up again in the morning.
