Jake Parrot Macaw Tampa, FL

Jake is a very well behaved blue and gold macaw, in fact, he is the most polite bird I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He says “thank you” before taking a treat, or diving into his pellets. He also makes sure to greet you with a “hello” or a “good morning”, and says “goodbye” or “good night” when I walk out of his room. Jake loves hanging out on my shoulder and nuzzling his face into my cheek. He is also quite a goofy bird while taking a shower, or meeting new people. He has picked up a few words and sounds while staying with his foster mom, including “hi” in my voice, and a “meow” in the voice of his cat friends. Jake will also quickly tell the other birds to “stop!” if they get too loud. He is not fussy at all, and will readily try any food offered to him. He also is very happy to tear up cardboard and wooden blocks. Jake is also towel trained, to make visits to the vet easier. He would be a great addition to anyone’s home!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Jake will only be adopted to a home with a female as the primary care giver. Jake becomes emotional distressed with men; including biting and self mutilation.

An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
