Remington Coonhound Eau Claire, WI

Howdy! My name is Remington, but sometimes they call me Remy for short. I am a lovable 4 year old male Coonhound that was rescued off the street and brought to the shelter as a stray. My previous owner has not come to claim me, so now I must find a new family to love. I'm a great dog with lots of happy energy and will always be ready to go with you on a hike with only a moment's notice. I do well with most other dogs, and I really love people and kids and knowing that you love me too! I have been keeping my kennel clean, so I am most likely housebroken, but my previous owner didn't teach me much about doggy manners like not jumping up on humans - therefore, even though I am a very sweet pooch that loves to give kisses and is very gentle with treats, a home without small children would be best for me. You see, I forget about how big I am and could accidentally push a little one over. An active home that would provide me with lots of mental and physical stimulation by giving me a job to do would be great. I am strong on leash when first let out of my kennel, but I do quickly calm down and become much easier to handle once I have gone potty and thanked you with a kiss for spending time with me. I like to stretch my long legs and put my curious hound nose to work checking out all the news about things like when a rabbit has last crossed the walking path. I am very affectionate and appreciate all the petting you can dish out, so I know that we would instantly become best friends. Please adopt me; I promise to be good and love you forever!!
