Meet Tribute
Tribute is a red female Doberman, cropped and docked. She is a small-to-medium-sized deer-like little thing probably born early in 2010. Tribute was found as a stray and taken to a mixed breed rescue that asked us to take her. Poor Tribute had dozens of lacerations on her head, neck, front legs and chest. How they came to be there is unknown. Tribute’s physical wounds have healed, but her emotional wounds have not.  Although she is not aggressive she continues to be extremely shy even with people she knows. She is more comfortable around women and children than men. She was adopted, but was not good with the small dogs in the home and she does not trust other dogs in general. She would be best as an only dog in a quiet home with someone who wants to take on the long-term challenge of a project dog. Tribute will need many months of rehabilitation by someone who is patient, calm, and dog-savvy enough to stay way ahead of her. She is very energetic and can quickly get herself into trouble if she panics. Tribute is crate-trained and housebroken. No small dogs or cats for Tribute.
