Our Mission
Ky Hopeful Paws is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 2020 to address a growing need in the Kentucky community. Kentucky faces one of the largest pet-dog crises across the country and the numbers of abandoned and abused animals continue to grow.
KY Hopeful Paws is a champion of dogs everywhere, and our hope is through leadership, education, and involvement with our community and beyond, we can make Kentucky a hopeful place for all dogs.
We are currently helping dogs in need through sheltering, fostering, adoption, education, spay/neuter education, and community outreach.
Many of the dogs we take in are cases of abuse, neglect, hoarding, large puppy mills, or other emergency situations.
Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting from KY Hopeful Paws. Please read the below requirements before submitting an adoption application. We will reach out to you with any questions, or if your application is approved.
You must FULLY COMPLETE the adoption application. We cannot process incomplete applications.
All current pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm preventative, and must be spayed or neutered. If you have extenuating health circumstances with a pet, please note on your application and provide a letter from your veterinarian with an explanation.
Please note: due to the high volume of applications we receive, we cannot reach out to those whose applications are incomplete or are not approved.
Please note: this application does not guarantee approval of your application or placement of a dog into your home. Some dogs will receive several applications and others only a few. We attempt to find the best-matched home for each dog. If not selected, your application will remain on file for future dogs.
Please note: Our rescue is run solely by volunteers. It may be a number of weeks before you hear back regarding your application. Please be patient as we are trying to work through applications as quickly as possible.
