Zeus Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix Lenoir, NC

Zeus was pulled from our local animal control agency when they realized he was in need of surgery for an inguinal hernia. He's completely recovered now and doing very well.

With a birthday of Feb. 21, 2024, we anticipate Zeus will be on the larger size, perhaps 50 - 70 lb.

Zeus is very friendly with all dogs and got along with the cats in his first foster home. He's an affectionate young man and his foster mom said, "Super smart, he would wake me up to let him out of his crate and he would potty on the pad."

Zeus is working on his leash manners and is getting used to riding in a car.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

For adult dogs, our adoption fee covers a standard canine vaccine, a rabies vaccine, and deworming if recommended by our vet. Adult dogs will also have current heartworm test. For puppies over the age of 14 weeks, our adoption fee covers the first 3 puppy vaccines. If the puppy is still in our care at 16 weeks, we will also provide the rabies vaccine.

A vet reference is required if you are adopting an intact dog over 6 months of age (or the age our attending veterinarian recommends for spay/neuter) to ensure future altering of the dog. A refundable spay/neuter deposit is required for intact dogs/puppies.

Open Adoption Events for Foster Dogs are held on most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open Adoption Events for Bunch Anderson Shelter Dogs are held every Saturday from noon-4:00 p.m. Please check our FB page for changes in Adoption Event Schedules.

A scheduled Meet & Greet between Adoption Events may be possible by sending an e-mail to: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We do not hold dogs. Fees are required in cash at Tractor Supply.
