Wonton - Adorable and Sweet Wheaten Terrier & Poodle Mix Steamboat, CO

Wonton is the cutest boy we've seen in a long time. He did great on his recent dog assessment! We're so happy for him! He will still need someone committed to working with him to teach him to not get so excited when he sees dogs, out and about.

He still struggles being left alone, so he needs an adopter dedicated to slowly acclimating him to that. Wonton's adoption fee includes one month of support for a CSAT (certified separation anxiety trainer) in addition to the SDR behavior support we provide to all our dogs.
Wonton is a rescue - people used to know that when you get a rescue dog (especially ones that were pulled from death row) that there would be some dedication needed to help them feel safe and know the ropes of being a loved family dog. It feels like now, at least in the busy front range area - people want only turn key dogs. This is why we are listing Wonton in Montana too. Hoping people in a more rural, chill area would be more open to loving a rescue dog through his traumatic beginning, and giving him a chance at a full life.
We got Wonton literally 2 days AFTER he was supposed to be euthanized (they held him for us), that does something to a dog, being that close to euthanasia in a shelter.
Wonton is amazing but we are looking for the right people and the right environment for him - he would in reality, do better in a more rural setting.
