Hi, I'm Winnie,

I am a sweet, shy 2 year old, 66 pound girl. I was surrendered by my owners when they couldn't care for me. I am an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl that is ready to find my
forever family! I was entered into the Confidence College Program after showing increasing signs of stress that involved not wanting to leave my kennel for long. I was moved to the Canine Behavior Center in the hopes of being able to greatly reduce my stress while also working on my meeting novel people and on my dog skills. I have really struggled with being in the shelter. I have the best temperament. I would be the perfect companion for those who appreciate a loyal canine friend.

I am house and crate trained. I know sit, down, touch and I'm working on shake. I like to walk at a leisurely pace and don't pull. I will need patient adopters that are willing to let me warm up to them at my own pace to ensure I am comfortable prior to attempting to pet me. Once I warm up, I am the ultimate cuddle bug and love to roll onto my back for belly rubs. Sometimes I even get bouncy and excited, and will begin pawing at people to pet me more. I will need a home with patient adopters that are willing to give me time to settle in and let my personality shine!

Do you have the patience to help me work through my shyness? I really would like to be back in a home. I am good with cats. We could go for walks then hang out on the couch. I would love to have you stop by. You will need to ask to meet me at the desk. I am not staying in the main shelter.

ADOPTION INFORMATION: All Wayside Waifs pets are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Wayside Waifs in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
