DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Hey there, I'm Velvet, and if you're looking for a furry friend with loads of love and energy, then I'm your girl! I may be a total sweetheart, but don't let that fool youI'm a hound through and through, bursting with energy and puppy-like behavior.

To keep up with my boundless energy, a fenced yard is a must-have in my new home. I thrive on exercise and playtime, so having someone who can keep up with me and tire me out would be paw-some! While I'm a social butterfly and absolutely adore human attention, I must warn youI'm high energy. Like most hounds I am very curious which can get me into trouble sometimes. You will have to make sure to keep a clean kitchen counter while I'm around! If my nose smells it, I will grab it!

My other favorite thing to do other than play is to give lots of hugs! I am a very affectionate girl and have never met a human that I don't like! I love going to adoption events because there are so many people to greet with my snuggles!

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
