TY - Courtesy Post - Pit Bull Terrier Mix Huntington, NY

This is a courtesy post: Ty was saved by a kind vet when he was on death's door and the family could neither afford or properly care for him. He was flea infested, struggled to breath and has an old injury he was never treated for.

Ty is 3-year-old Pit Bull mix. He is affectionate and great with people, playful and high-energy. He has bonded quickly with his foster/ caretaker. He is wee wee pad trained, but needs training to let you know when he needs to go outside.He is food motivated so will learn quickly. When he came to us, he was critically ill. He was hospitalized and treated for severe respiratory disease, that has since resolved. He has an old elbow fracture that healed abnormally, and his hind limbs are slightly weaker than "normal," but he still runs around and plays like a normal, young, energetic dog.

Ty would be best as an only pet in a home with adults, and a fenced-in yard. He needs an experienced owner willing to work with a trainer. He is extremely food-motivated. He will not tolerate being confined to a crate.
