TROOPER - loves to cuddle Hound & Beagle Mix Underhill, VT

Please meet Trooper! This sweet boy and his three siblings were rescued soon after their birth along with their stray momma. Unfortunately, the little family landed in a foster situation unequipped to handle newborn puppies and, sadly, two of the babies did not survive. Trooper and his sister were placed in an experienced foster home and are now thriving while waiting for their forever homes.

Trooper is about 12 months old and weighs in at 48 pounds...every ounce sweet as can be. Mom was a beagle/hound mix and dad was traveling mystery man. We call them "Heinz 57" pups....the best kind. Trooper is house trained and will stand by the door when he needs to go out. He also has an outside kennel and is very cooperative when asked to enter. He needs a little help with leash training, but this smart, treat-driven boy wants to please so he'll get the hang of that quickly. He knows several basic commands and loves to carry his stuffy around..

Trooper is also fostered with two small dogs and gets along fine. He understands how to play respectfully with them. There is a cat in the foster home and he's okay around him. Like all pups, he can be curious and playful so cats but would be fine with a dog savvy kitty in his forever home. He has not been fostered with children but with is sweet nature, we think a family with kids above toddler age would be fine.

Trooper has been spayed, micro-chipped and is up to date with vaccinations. He's also on monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventative. His doggy bag is packed and he's ready to head for his forever home.
