Meet Traviesa!

Traviesa became a Frosted Face on January 27th. She is 18 years old and weighs 9 lbs. Traviesa is a very sweet girl who loves to snuggle, nap, and eat - all the simple pleasures of a laid back senior dog!

Traviesa went on a two-week Frosted Fling while she recovered from spay and mass removal surgery, and it turned into a Foster home. We are so thankful she is getting extra TLC in the comfort of a home.

Her Foster Mom reports:

"Traviesa is the best. She literally gets along with everyone, including our other dogs, cats, and rabbits. She is quiet and sweet, so she doesn't bother them, and they don't bother her.

Traviesa took a while to decompress here. She was clearly traumatized when we first brought her home. She was a bit scared of people touching her, and she sometimes snapped when she was surprised. She spent a lot more time sleeping -- as though whatever she had just been through literally took everything out of her. She was in survival mode.

After about two 1/2 weeks, Traviesa began to warm up to us. She allowed me to begin picking her up in a blanket and cuddling her. That is now her favorite thing in the world. She cries out for me sometimes in the middle of the day or the night if she feels scared or alone, and I scoop her up in a blanket and rock her to sleep. She dozes off in 2 minutes and sleeps for hours.

Traviesa is currently eating Fresh Pet with added ground broccoli and carrots twice per day. She has a very healthy appetite! I feed her separately, so she can eat in peace. Traviesa doesn't indicate she needs to go potty, so we put her out every 4-6 hours, and she does her business.

Traviesa finally just allowed us to give her a full bath with a face wash this last week. Before she acted like it hurt her, but now I realize I think she was just nervous. Now she is clean and fluffy (as much as she can be with such thin hair). She is a very sweet old girl who just needs a home where she can be protected, and cuddled, and warm, and fed. She is a very, very, very low-maintenance gal. We call her our golden girl."
