Meet Tracy

Tracy is a beautiful border collie mix who is approximately 4 mos old. I have been fostering her and her brother Percy for 2 weeks. Although everyone agrees that Tracy is a very pretty puppy, her most striking feature is her personality. The best way I can say it is she sparkles. She is outgoing, adventurous, she initiates play, and she is active. She is smart and observant. She LOVES outside and runs and chases her brother with delight. She likes tug-of-war and is 100% dog - she investigates every stick and is the first to find a possible escape route. She loves chew toys and needs them. As far as she is concerned, a shoe is as good as a toy so she needs supervision and redirection with an appropriate toy. She is highly trainable and would love it and is food motivated. She is the type of dog that if you invest your time in training her now, you will reap the rewards in the near future. She is eager to please and eager to learn.

Here is the schedule she has had while being with me:

6:00 am - quick potty break with supervision because we have skunks (not as pets of course but apparently they really like my back yard) and then breakfast (cup of dry Pedigree Puppy mixed with 2 spoonfuls of canned Pedigree.) Then its party like its 1999 for an hour or so and snooze time on a pallet in my office. We take another potty break outside at 10:00 (ish) and they play outside for approximately an hour barring bad weather. Then it is back inside for lunch (same as breakfast) and a longer nap in their kennel. After lunch/nap, potty break again (they are not completely potty trained and accidents happen but they are getting there) its time to try to convince me that they did not get lunch. A vote is taken, it is decided I am a meanie and its playing and amusing themselves either with me or one of the teenagers that float in and out. They snooze on and off until 6:00pm and dinner is served - same as lunch. Potty breaks are given, she and her brother usually find a teenager to pay attention to them and then 8:30 is bedtime. They are put in their kennel for the night. She likes the kennel and goes in willingly.

All families have their own schedule and she will adapt to yours, I just wanted her new family to be aware of what they are used to.

I have one cat - an 11 year 5lb ball of fury. She has been raised with dogs and will not put up with any nonsense - especially from puppies. She does not back down and she gave Percy and Tracy (and all foster puppies) a quick tutorial on wrath, revenge and justice. They have never tried to chase her - they just look at her in awe so I can say Percy and Tracy are good with at least my cat but she is an unusual cat.

I have TONS of pictures and will happily share them with their new family. I also love getting updates on all the fosters I have had - it is sad for me to let them go but I see how happy they are with their forever family and it makes it all worth while.
