Toby's personality has been characterized as sweet and goofy. As you can see from his photos, Toby's face reflects the description; and his unusual ears especially enhance the goofy element. Still and all, while he may be goofy in appearance and attitude, Toby is certainly a distinguished looking handsome boy. His life was no bed of roses before coming to HumaneCNY. Because of that, he takes a few minutes to warm up to new people; but in short order you'll find yourself the recipient of sweet "Toby kisses." Should you offer Toby a treat, you'll notice that he takes it gently from your hand. When it comes to walks,Toby is all in. He's easy to harness and walks pretty well with the exception of a little bit of pulling. He enjoys sniffing around when he gets the chance to be outside, but he is not distracted or reactive to other dogs or prey, such as squirrels. Even while being escorted through HumaneCNY's lobby on his way outside, Toby ignores the cats that are clearly visible in the glass-walled room. Another plus is that Toby rides well in the car.
