Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Toby, or not Toby, that is the question. And the answer is obviously TOBY!! This 12 year old 25 pound dachshund mix came to us from one of our local shelter partners. Toby has been an absolute dream in his foster home. He lives with a big dogs, small dogs, and dog-savvy cats, and gets along great with all. He is housebroken on a schedule, but will alert you if he needs to go out. He enjoys the fenced in yard, but is also loves to go for walks.

Toby has allergies and some slight hair loss which are currently managed with a medicated shampoo (Chlorhexidine, $15 - $18) and a bi-monthly injection, (Cytopoint, around $75) A daily pill (Apoquel, around $1.25) instead of an injection is also an option. He is a voracious eater, and doesn’t notice if you slip a pill in his bowl. Toby is the whole package, and his ears go sideways, like Yoda! Someone will scoop this boy up fast, so reach out now!
