Meet Titus aka TT - Fostered in Omaha

T.T. (Titus) is a 21 lb, 5 year old beagle. He has a past, however troubled it was he is learning the world is an okay place to be. He was released from a medical testing lab in April 2021. He was originally adopted in July 2021 but was returned to Basset and Beagle in December 2021. He has been in his foster home since.

TT is a shy, timid boy. Since he has been with me, he has been learning a ton! He has learned the back yard is a great place to play. A fenced yard is a HUGE requirement for him. He will run and jump around my yard. He still hates the leash but will now walk short distances. So would be best for someone who is not looking to go on long hikes!

In typical beagle fashion, he loves his food and will bark with excitement when it is feeding time. He eats in his spot in the house.

TT is potty trained to a dog door to go outside. He wears a belly band at night for bed but otherwise doesn't mark or have accidents. Lately, the belly band has been dry in the morning. Due to his fears and success with the dog door, it is important that his new home has a dog door too. He may need to know/learn the dog door at a new home, so until that happens there may be accidents in the home. A home with other dogs would be great so he can watch/learn where it is.

He loves to approach us for pets and love. He will sit on the couch either by himself or next to us, even putting his head on your lap to soak in the love. He also will jump up on the recliner for attention. When strangers come to the house, he sits on the couch and waits for affection from them too! But, he does still run out of fear if we approach him.

He loves to play with foster siblings, so requires a home with another dog or dogs. He also really likes to chew on bones and toys. He does chew a bit, so lots of bones and chew toys would be good. The only thing he has destroyed is reading glasses left on the end table. Honestly, most beagles would be tempted!

TT doesn't do well in a kennel. In fact, we don't kennel him at all. He will leave a mess in the kennel. He would be best suited in a home where he wouldn't have to be kenneled.

TT is such a sweet boy, he just has a past where he wasn't allowed to live a dog's life. He continues to improve and has come so far and will continue to grow. We have come to love this guy, and all his quirks. We hope someone can give him a chance and love him as much as we do. You will be rewarded with his love and affection. but I know I can't be his forever family (those darn pet laws). If someone would love to give him a chance, he will reward you with his love and affection.

He is up to date on all his shots, microchipped, and neutered. He is heartworm negative and ready for his new home. His adoption is $300 and you can apply at www.bassetandbeagle.org.
