Tipper - tripod - PENDING ADOPTION Black Labrador Retriever Mix Meadow Lake, SK

Tipper came to MLDHS as a dog who was shot in the leg several weeks or months before we received her. Sadly for her she suffered painfully with a portion of her leg gone. But her luck changed when she was brought to MLDHS and our vets were able to determine she was still in reasonable shape to consider amputation rather than euthanizing her.

Tipper is so friendly and doing great! She is good with other dogs but a little too food motivated, so should be monitored around food especially initially. This may well be due to her having to fend for herself at times in her previous life so we would hope in time once she realizes she will have regular meals she won't have to be concerned about food as much. Being very food motivated though does work well in the training department! She loves people and loves to explore all the smells outdoors. She is learning how to walk on a leash and how to explore life as a 3 legged doggo. As far as owning a tripod dog; they usually have no problems getting around and once they are used to living life on 3 legs you wouldn't think they would ever need a 4th leg to do all the things!

UPDATE: APR 2/24 - She is healing really well and ready to go to her new home! She is learning to walk off leash and has good recall. She gets along with her doggy friends but she hasnt been introduced to cats yet. She enjoys watching and chasing the birds outside and playing in the puddles. She is learning to not jump up and not to steal her furry friends' food. She is such a happy dog even after all that shes been through.

Our regular dog adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, shot, rabies shot and microchip.
