Meet Tina

Are you looking for a smol, adorable girl with a stylish-air-dry-and-go haircut? Meet Tina! Tina is an adorable, white and fawn, purebred Longhair Pocket Sprinter (we made that up, she is a greyhound mix, sometimes called a lurcher or a stag hound depending on the mix and purpose for breeding). Tina is a petite female (50lbs) and will be 2 in July.

Tina is a people dog. She wants to be with you as much as possible and as close as possible. A human that works from home would be greyt! Is there a dog that is than a Velcro dog? ‘Cause that’s Tina.

Being a Pocket Sprinter, she is ready to go on a several miles long hike, some yard zoomies, or to binge watch your favorite tv show with you. She’s up for anything as long as it’s with her human!

She was raised a farm girl around other dogs, cats, farm animals, and children. Since being in foster care, we have observed she does best with large, male dogs. Tina is too interested in cats and small dogs, so a home without them would be best. She loves kids, but small kids might getting knocked down as she will jump up when excited.

She is still learning how to be a house dog. Tina has furniture mastered and would very much like to be a couch and sleep-in-bed-with-you dog (as much as her foster family has tried to not let this happen). She’s is doing well with potty training and hasn’t had any accidents since her first week.

This girl enjoys backyard time and will zoomie excitedly for the first few minutes. She hasn’t, but she could likely jump a 4ft fence; so, she will need a home with a 6ft fence, someone committed to properly introducing and supervising while in a shorter fence, or someone committed to leash walking. Tina is currently experiencing separation anxiety which her foster is working with her on. She kennels when the humans leave and when she eats. She hasn’t been destructive or attempted to escape, but she does cry and bark.

Tina would love an active family who will play with her and include her in activities. She could be a solo dog or with one or two other large male dogs. While she still has some learning to do, she will make a greyt family pet!

This dog is being fostered in the Des Moines Area. We do not ship dogs. Adopters must be committed to meeting the dog in the area it is being fostered.
