Thumper Chihuahua Mix Denver, CO

Hello there, my name is Thumper, and I am a 4-year-old Chihuahua Mix. I was relinquished to MaxFund because in my previous family there were a lot of kids, and noise, (not to mention no personal space) and that is not a good environment for me, so I had a tough time getting along with everyone. It’s okay though, I know my perfect person is out there!

I am truly an outdoors kind of dog, I love being outside, whether I am playing fetch, trying to squeak my toys to oblivion, or going for walks- I just love the fresh air. I dream about being part of an active family who love walks, hikes and we can even jog together. Since I have so much energy, lots of exercise is a great outlet for me.

A secure yard with a 6-foot fence would be perfect for me to zoom around and fetch toys with you! I am leash trained and have good manners, but I can get distracted by people or dogs walking by. I have been learning the command “leave it” when passing by people or dogs so that my attention can be redirected to my human, instead of what is going on next to me.

Speaking of treats, I am very treat-motivated, which makes my training easier! I already know how to “sit”, “shake”, “down” and “roll over” on command- I am eager to learn more! We could practice a bunch of tricks together, do dog puzzles and have so much fun directing my energy into training!

As far as potential brothers/sisters goes, it would be best if I were the only child in the house (human or animal otherwise). I want all the attention! MaxFund requires that you have multiple visits with me. It takes me a minute to warm up to new people and I want to form a secure bond with the person/people who I will be spending the rest of my life with! before coming home with them. Don't worry, I form strong bonds with those I love!

My circle of friends started off very small, but my family has grown so large! I think I’m figuring out that I love humans (especially the ones with treats)!
