Meet Samba

Hi, my name is Samba! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into most homes . Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Active/energetic, still learning/a bit anxious

-Can Live with Kids: No, I will need an adult-only home.

-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need proper introductions to ensure everyone gets along. May be overwhelming for shy or senior kitties who prefer being left alone.

-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, another dog to help show her the ropes would be great!

-Can do Apartment Living: No, I would do best in a home with a fenced yard

-Potty Trained: Yes

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, a 6 week puppy course

-Energy Level: High!

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No

-Additional Information: Samba is a young, active puppy who would thrive with an adopter who can help her learn how to dog. She came to the shelter as a stray so we're not really sure what her life looked like previously, but we do know she has lots of love to give and is eager to become the best dog she can be! Samba is a bit of a nervous lady and would do best in a quieter home that can be patient and go slow while she adjusts. Introductions to new people and things should be taken very slowly and at her own pace. Enrolling her in puppy classes will be extremely helpful in growing her confidence and forming a bond with her new person. A home with another dog to help show her the ropes would be great! Samba is still young and has tons of potential to grow into an awesome lifelong adventure buddy for the right person.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
