**TELLER IS APPROX 9 MONTHS OLD AND CURRENTLY WEIGHS 50 LBS
Hi, my name is Teller (my brother Penn was adopted) and I can't tell you how happy I am to be in my foster home...the only thing that would make me happier is to be in my very own home. I would say that I am typical 9-month-old puppy, only MUCH smarter!! I am still learning my manners & potty training, Therefore, please, unless you are able to demonstrate the time, patience and ability to hone these skills, do not apply. If you do not have the time to let me out every 4-5 hours or so for the next couple weeks, please take a look at some of the older dogs and/or adults or even seniors in rescue. The GREAT NEWS is that puppyhood is only temporary and with TRAINING, EXERCISE and STRUCTURE, puppies like me can quickly learn to be good adult dogs that can share your life! The BAD NEWS is that WITHOUT TRAINING, STRUCTURE, AND EXERCISE the only thing that will happen is that I will become OLDER and STILL untrained. Sadly, most people think that just age brings about better behavior. That is completely INCORRECT. Training, exercise, and structure, and of course prevention from doing "bad" things brings about appropriate behavior. SO, IF you had the patience to read all of this you may be just the home I am looking for. One thing is for sure, I have not had the best beginning in life but since I am so young, you have the opportunity to raise me the way you want to live with you forever! I am looking forward to that because to me right now LIFE is an ADVENTURE and what adventure is completely without a best friend????? Let's move onto the good stuff!!! It is believed that I am a flat coat retriever/ Australian shepherd mix (hence the lack of tail). Now, no one knows for sure but if it's true then you should read up on those 2 breeds to learn about them. We are VERY smart, active, and driven. So, no lazy bone homes for me!! I like to be on the move but when I settle down, I love me a nice lap to curl up on! Gives everyone involved the best of both worlds! Currently I am being fostered in a great home with other dogs and cats. We get along really good together and love to play (check out my video). Foster mom says I am still in that awkward puppy stage and will randomly fall off things or over/underestimate where I will land when I jump. I find it a bit embarrassing, but she thinks it's hilarious! You humans have a goofy sense of humor lol! I have been great with the resident cat but if he takes off running, I am right on his heals chasing him so if you have a feline, they should be dog savvy. Foster mom is impressed with how quickly I am learning to sit, "leave it" and come when called. I attribute that to my genetics, but I guess I can give foster mom some kudos too! I have been getting practice on leash walking and am proud to say that I am slowly getting the hang of it. My potty habits are a work in progress but as I stated above, time, patience and consistency are key. Once I have been all tuckered out, I absolutely LOVE watching TV!! The Animal Planet is one of my favorites. Foster mom has some cool videos of me lounging while enjoying TV! She is worried that (because I am so smart) I will soon be able to navigate the remote and watch whatever I want. Hope there isn't a "canine control" on that thing lol! I am a great co-pilot in the car and enjoy a nice Sunday tour of the countryside! Meeting new people is also one of my favorite things to do. I guess you could say that I'm an all-around happy, loving, cuddly, and friendly guy with a real zest for life!! If you are also in search of a new bestie then fill out that application!! love, teller xoxo

My adoption donation is $250 and that goes to the (Friends of Fido MCDP) so that they in coordination with CtHAR and other rescues can save more pups from the pound just like me!
