Teddy Beau is estimated to be 1 year old and is 74 lbs.

I know you are looking for a Labrador Retriever with an A+ personality! Youngster Teddy Beau (Teddy) has been in his foster home since 9/28/23 and enjoys following his foster parents around the house, while wagging his tail. We have no idea why this perfect pup has found himself without a family, or why he was found as a stray. Teddy was rescued from Rockdale Animal Control when he was listed as “urgent” and advocated for by many wonderful people in the rescue community.

Teddy attended a You Lucky Dog Rescue adoption event the first weekend he was rescued! He met lots of kids and other dogs and didn’t mind all of the attention and the gentle pets from strangers. He even tried out the kissing booth and walked around the event, which was a busy and loud environment. Teddy could be the dinner-on-the-patio dog you’ve been waiting for! He will happily sit with you, as long as you don’t mind his typical-to-the breed leaning on you or your feet behavior.

He lives in a foster home that includes his foster mom and dad, a college-aged human brother, 4 dogs (males and females), and 2 cats. He is playful and will match the energy of the dogs around him. He is learning “place” on a dog bed next to the other dogs in our house. Teddy is still on a leash in the house since he is still learning and adjusting. He has not yet been introduced to the cats.

Teddy is crate-trained and does not have accidents in the house or crate. He has a blanket in the crate and has not chewed on it at all. He is learning the toileting routine of our other dogs and is very excited to come out to start his day. He is definitely a young pup, and his adoptive family should be prepared to take him out on a reasonable schedule. He takes a little time to settle in his crate, since he would rather be lying next to us. He is still learning to trust that we are coming back for him. Teddy is not food aggressive and does not resource guard - he will allow you to take food or toys/bones away from him. He eats quickly still – a trait of a shelter dog who isn’t used to routine in a home. He loves hard Nylabone type bones, or a frozen peanut butter Kong to keep him busy.

He is still learning how to walk on a leash, but he is responding to correction when he pulls or gets too excited. He is a tall pup who needs a handler to walk him by their side, with confidence. Teddy knows “sit” and is learning “down” and “stay.” He is energetic and responds well to routine and repetition. Teddy is starting to make eye contact when he is receiving praise and love; he desperately wants a person he can trust. If you are a person who needs a lab who will lovingly follow you around the house, then Teddy is your boy. He can’t wait to have a forever family who will call him “good boy” all day long.

For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
