Meet Taz

Meet Taz! Isn't he just gorgeous?

Taz is a 100 pound, five-year-old neutered male German Shepherd.
Taz has been loving life and working hard with his foster family north of Green Bay.

Taz is very sociable with both humans and other dogs. Taz spends time daily with a pack of dogs at his foster. Taz is neither a bully nor a coward with the other dogs, In fact, he is very mild-mannered and gets along well and tolerates the other dogs. He has great social manners but still needs work in some areas.

Taz behaves very nicely around humans as well. His foster family have introduced him to several strangers, and he has conducted himself very well.

Like most other German shepherds, this dog loves children. When his foster human sister, 13-years-old, comes around he gets quite goofy as he cannot wait to be around her and get her attention. Saying he adores children isn't a stretch as he attaches quite quickly to children as a protector of them.

Taz's bonus points;
-no food, dog, or human aggression
-is responding very well to both verbal and hand communication
-shows numerous signs positive for housebreaking
-overall health and eating habits are great
-did I mention he loves children?!

Taz's areas of improvement
-Taz still needs to learn some more manners when he's on a leash, because of his large size he can be a handful. Having said this, he has made some very good strides towards better leash behavior in these last couple of weeks
-Taz is learning how to enjoy dog toys for what seems the first time in his life, and he is learning to not grab them out of a person's hand without being given permission first
-as I mentioned before of the animal's love for children- Taz can be quite audible and "whiney" when the children are around.
-He has a little bit of separation anxiety but he's been learning to deal with that quite well lately.

While Taz has his quirks like any dog does, he is fun to have around.

Taz is an excellent example of his breed and in need of a forever home that can give him the love, food, shelter, exercise and stimulation that he deserves. He is a protector and a lover. Experienced German Shepherd dog (GSD) owners are not necessary as long as his handler is confident and strong but it would be a definite plus if his forever family has owned a GSD before.
