**SWEETIE AND BOO ARE A BONDED PAIR**

"Hi! I'm Sweetie, I'm a good girl who loves cuddles, kisses, and playing with my daughter, Boo! I have cuddly, soft fur and a kind face."

"Hey!! I'm Boo, I'm Sweetie's daughter. I love my mom, learning new things, and getting lots of play and exercise! I have funny floppy ears that have a life of their own."

Sweetie, also known as "Sweetie Mama", is a 4 year old Terrier Cross with beautiful red-brown eyes and tri-color fur. Boo, her daughter, is also a tri-color terrier cross - she is around 3 years old. You can tell them apart because Boo has a little strip of white down her nose/ between eyes and floppy ears whereas Sweetie has more black and beige markings. They are friendly, loyal, and very smart. They will need lots of mental stimulation and physical exercise. The girls will need to be adopted together because after all they have been through, they are absolutely bonded. They are a very close family!

Tracie, our founder, went over to Sweetie and Boo's previous owners house because they had arranged to spay and neuter them, and saw the dogs living in appalling conditions in a hoarder's yard. They both have a prey drive probably due to being left to fend for themselves, at times catching rats and other small animals for food or recreation due to complete boredom. We know they definitely cannot go with cats or other small animals because they will chase and harass them. Not long after they arrived here there was an incident where they ended up killing a kitten that had sneaked into the room they were put into. They are very sweet dogs that deserve a good home regardless of their prey drive - they are great with people and as long as they are in a home with no cats or small animals, it will be no issue at all. They will make great companions! They're really smart so can learn all sorts of tricks and since they're full of energy and need stimulation, they would be best suited to an active family, individual, or couple. They will need a secure, high fenced yard to play in.

Its important to know that Sweetie Mama is heartworm positive and has had one treatment - we need to have her retested; if she continues to test positive we will provide support for her treatment and heartworm prevention for the rest of the year. Please don't let this deter you from considering her, heartworm is now more easily treated than ever and she is currently showing no symptoms at all.
