Meet Sushi!! Sushi is believed to be a lab beagle bermese Mountain X. Honestly, your guess is as good as ours. What we do know is Sushi is 4/5 years old. We rescued her from a local shelter 2020 due to her being labeled behavior. Sushi behaved feral fearful at the shelter and the shelter environment was way more than she could handle. Since Sushi has been with us she has learned to trust, meet people, accept all, and even initiate human interaction. She has blossomed and learned to trust humans easily. Rarely is she unsure and will walk away if she feels scared. We continue to socialize and expose her.

Sushi loves to play with us. Tug a war, chase, run, fetch too.
Expect to do some fetching aswell. Occasionally depending on the dog, her preference is easily and gently played over gladiator wrestling. Some is ok, but no wwf shit. She will give you THE WTF LOOK.

Sushi has become a social butterfly does great with dogs and is cat-friendly too. Sushi requires an easy intro with dogs, I just remind her she is okay and to be nice. But you must be confident and assertive. As long as she sense the people are in control she is a free bird. She listens very well too. Sushi has met and been around hundreds of dogs. Over 300 since in our care. She is a fairly easy, calm, mellow with spunk, a medium-energy active dog. A fence in the yard is preferred, apartment living would be ok as well. As long as she gets her daily walk and exercise. Well mannered happy kids would be nice. Sushi will do best with independent calm mellow dogs that will offer space and respect her space and follow her lead or ignore her existence. Her whatever personality makes fi ding her home easier. She adapts easily.
She just needs security and surround fed by joy. Sushi loves to eat (don't we all) and could lose a few pounds. This girl is fluffy! Sushi absolutely enjoys daily walks, trails, swimming, and snuggling with her humans. She loves playing with dog toys with her humans. Sushi would make a great first-time pet owner who is willing to give her 110%. She can be a only dog with doggie friends.

Sushi is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, corona as well as rabies shot, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and current on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention.

Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. We do NOT ship and meet and greet are required before adoption unless you are a previous adopter.

Previous adopters of AHRs have the first choice and are not expected to pay another adoption fee again. Donation of their choice is welcomed.

Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a must.
