AFRAID OF MEN. SHOULD BE IN A FEMALE HOME ONLY. She is fearful of men, but is not reactive with them.

Summer is a very sweet 1 year and 3-month-old labrador cattle dog mix (approx 50 pounds).
What Summer would like you to know about her:
"I am extremely loving and loyal to my foster parents and everyone I know at the shelter! I have lots of love to give but like getting pets in return.
I have webbed paws and love the water.
I have the Best downward and upward dog you have ever seen!!! (No, seriously…bestest ever seen by foster Mom!)
Potty trained and will happily go on walks or in the backyard if in a pinch.
I am a very eager learner and have Basic obedience and learning more every single day.
I am Fantastic in the car! I don’t whine or cry…I LOVE going everywhere. I often fall asleep and happily sit or lie down in the back row till we get somewhere. Then I wait politely till I am asked to get out of the car. I am a very athletic dog so would happily go on long walks, hikes and runs…Just put on my leash and I is ready to go :).
I can also do amazing down time like chill out by the couch and nap like the best of them.
I have been taught to not get on the furniture and doing GREAT at that. I happily pick one of the doggie beds and am happy to lounge just about anywhere.
I do really great in my pen overnight. No whining or barking and I walk in on demand. I know right??? Pretty awesome, I is!
I do not have separation anxiety so my fosters are pretty happy with me if I am left in separate part of the house without a problem, but my preference is to be close to where you are.
I am still young, so it is recommended to put me in my pen when unsupervised for a longer period of time. My foster Mom would add that I have been a very good girl and haven’t destroyed anything yet…..
I do like my toy basket and may chew the ears off my favorite stuffies but I stop when corrected….sorry, not sorry.
Some things make me uneasy like brooms and vacuums because they are completely new to me, so I prefer to be in another room when you use them. My foster Mom says I am getting better about this stuff every day since she likes to keep a clean a lot." I am having a hard time getting comfortable and bonding with men living in the home. I have tried, but just get too nervous. So I would really prefer a female only home.Men can visit as long as they don’t expect me to socialize with them.

Summer’s wish list for her new furever home:

She would love a kind, sweet and patient new owner because she is still somewhat skittish when she meets new people or places.
She would love a playmate that is her size or larger so she can wrestle, run and play keep away. She has been with smaller dogs and adjusted her play style but she is still young, so she needs reminders to take it easy.
She would LOVE to keep going to dog parks to meet new dogs and people…..she is a hit with her new besties there and loves all dogs.

Our adult dog adoption fee is $300 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card) and includes spay or neuter, rabies, DAPP and Bordetella vaccines, deworming, microchip, heart worm test and lifetime registration.
