Meet Stewie
Can you handle all this cuteness!? I'm Stewie and I can't wait to meet you! I might be a collie and basenji mix, currently weighing around 39lbs (and growing every day). My estimated date of birth is February of 2023. I made my way to this nice place after being found by the police department and hitching a ride here (they wouldn't let me play with the sirens though).
I am all PUPPY! I have lots of energy to burn and love to run and play. If you are looking for a dog that you can do lots of activities with, I'm your boy! Maybe hiking or camping, or perhaps visiting local parks and festivals, whatever you may like I would love to tag along and be your side kick! I know 'sit' but I am working on some basic commands such 'off' and 'wait' because I do like to jump up to try to get lots of affection from humans. I walk well on a leash and because I am so treat-motivated, I think I will pick up house training in no time once I am settled in a new home. As long as I am walked on a regular basis here at the shelter I try to keep and clean kennel. I really only have accidents throughout the night because I have to hold it a bit longer than I am used to.
I think I would do great with kids. They seem fun and have a lot of energy like I do. Smaller kids, toddlers or those just learning to walk may be a bit too small for my jumping until I learn not to do that. I have been introduced to dogs and cats here and I did pretty well, so living with one would probably be just fine with proper introductions. I know that I will make such a great addition to someone's family. Please fill out an application today!

Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $17, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
