This sweet, scared boy was relinquished to our rescue from his really thoughtful parents.

In 2020, Stewie was adopted out to a couple immediately after being found, by a team of rescuers who did not yet have enough information on him.

He was scared and shut down. They thought he was just timid. But his reactions once in a home became aggressive and uncontrollable.

The parents, spent thousands of dollars on training, and boarding which wasn’t showing the results they wanted of a calm and balanced dog. Then, their twins entered into the world. Knowing that Stewie deserved more care and a different type of structure, they selflessly sought our help to rehome him.

RGR has been taking our time to understand sweet Stewie… first, he was with one of our trainers for 4 weeks. Then, into a foster home with other dogs so that he could watch what dog interaction with humans can be like!

It’s very clear that Stewie needs a well balanced, grounded dog sibling to help him understand his place in the world. NO applicants with be considered unless they have another dog. Stewie also has severe separation anxiety that his owners will need to continue to worked through.

Stewie needs time to trust, but when he does, he can bond like no other. He’s loyal, cuddly, playful and thoughtful… he loves toys and walks and rolling in the grass.

We will take our time finding the right home for Stewie… one that will not have cats or children. And MUST have a dog.
