BIOGRAPHY
Meet Stewart! Stewart came into rescue after having been purchased by a breeder and it was quickly deemed that he did not meet the standards of the breeding program. Stewart was purchased through auction and appears to have originated from Oklahoma. While Stewart’s registry “papers” indicate that he is a 2.5-year-old dachshund, it also says that he is “red” dachshund, and he is a chocolate and tan dachshund. He also did not arrive with any explanation as to why he is completely toothless… Stewart’s real age and background are a total mystery, but overall, Stewart is a healthy boy. Stewart’s bloodwork panel indicated elevated liver values and should be re-tested in 3 months. He also arrived with minor scars and a slight limp but has been on antibiotics and pain medication with great progress. While Stewart could afford to lose another pound or so, he has no dietary restrictions. He has a strong jaw and has no problems eating hard food, though soft is preferred. Stewart is a total sweetheart who is great with people, cats, and dogs. He is very loveable and loves to sit with you, though his couch manners are still a work-in-progress. Stewart is as charming as he looks and is going to make an excellent addition to a family.
