Whoever is blessed with adopting Steve, Fox Terriers are highly intelligent dogs, and they have plenty of energy. They’d do best with humans who can provide them with lots of exercise and playtime, or else they might find their own ways to stay entertained with unwanted behaviors. Keep your pooch physically and mentally stimulated, and you’ll have a loving, playful companion.

We were following him on Facebook, Sacramento lost/found someone had found him and said he began following her. When she asked someone if he was their dog they said no he had been thrown from a moving vehicle a week before. He had open wounds on his face, head, butt, and body from road rash. The finder had stated she was going to keep him, but then he ended up at the shelter at least that's what was posted on the page. .

Despite his ordeal, he is a happy, bouncy, playful, energetic dog. He can be a bit vocal if he thinks you are leaving him behind but quiets after a brief whining period. He would do well in a home with another dog his size but not too much bigger. He is a tiny 5 pounds. He is fast, he hops like a bunny and loves to be held and cuddled. He is not for anyone who is looking for a lap dog, this boy needs an active family or individual. He would not do well in a crate. We are working on his potty habits. Whoever had him previously was not a very good person to him. He is emaciated you can see his hip bone and every rib but he is on his way to healthy body weight.

Right now Steve needs a foster until he is neutered. If you can foster please review our foster responsibilities page at https://www.gunterslegacy.org/glar-foster-responsibilities

We do not foster or adopt out of state and we do not foster or adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years old.
