Hi, my name is Stella! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Playful, affectionate, a little shy

-Can Live with Kids: Stella would do best in an adult-only home, or at least one with older, respectful, dog-savvy kids/teens who can read/respect her body language and give her space when she needs it. Recommending 14+ at this time.

-Can Live with Cats: Stella lived successfully with a cat in her previous home but previous owner reports she did enjoy chasing them from time to time. Intros to any new cats should be taken very slowly-- a confident cat who won't run if chased would likely be best.

-Can Live with Dogs: Stella could possibly live with another dog. She lived successfully with a canine companion in her previous home, however she can be fearful when meeting new dogs and takes a while to adjust to new friends.

-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended-- a home with a yard strongly preferred!

-Potty Trained: Yes

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson.

-Energy Level: Medium

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Spay/microchip
-Additional Information: Stella is a sweet, playful Rottweiler mix who would thrive in a home with a steady, predictable routine. She has been bounced around quite a bit in her young life and has been trained with punishment-based training in the past which seems to have factored into her insecurity. Stella would benefit from a calm, dog-savvy adopter who can continue working with her using positive reinforcement methods to remind her that she's safe and loved. Stella's previous owner reports that she struggles with reactivity (leash/barrier/dog) although we haven't seen much of that during her time in shelter. This sweet lil Rottie is more than ready to find a forever family of her own that will love her, treat her with kindness, and of course play fetch until their arm falls off.
