Sox aka Remy is in Maine! Mixed Breed South Portland, ME

Sox aka Remy is a shy puppy with a dob of 8/20/23 and he is currently 35lbs. He originally joined us with his siblings Mox, Earl and Herman.

Sox was adopted and returned to us, because he needs a quiet home. Sox is a shy / fearful boy that needs time to adjust. He will also need to have another dog in the home to make him feel safe and show him the ropes. He is currently being fostered with a teenager, other dogs and a cat. He will occasionally chase the cat in a playful manner. He loves the dogs and the teenage girl in the home! The foster home is a quiet home and Sox is doing great there. He is still nervous of meeting new people. We had him evaluated by a behavioralist that let us know he is doing very well and needs to go slow. His foster family has a number of exercises to work through with him.

He is house trained. He loves stuffy toys, bones, and playing outside. He loves going for walks. He isn't quite a fan of car rides yet, that is a work in progress. once in the vehicle he is ok.

He does love food and treats.

Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, martingale collar, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming and transport fees.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine or New Hampshire is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.

Imported dogs are transported on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to getting on transport.ve had annual heartworm tests and are on heartworm preventative.

Homes considering Puppies must be prepared for:
Flexible Schedules for Potty Training. Puppies can only hold urine for one hour per month of age. Crate Training for the next 10 months to keep them safe from chewing on everything in your home. Supervision with Children and Obedience training.
Socialization; both with new people, children and other dogs outside of the home.
Homes that want a well behaved dog, must be prepared to put the time, effort and costs associated to train a puppy. Well behaved dogs are not born, they are trained! Please do not apply for a puppy if you cannot or do not have the time for a puppy.
