Meet Sophie Sweets
URGENT PLACEMENT AND ADOPTION NEEDED - AL (Tuscaloosa area) - seeking responsible rescues and adopters – please direct inquiries to rescue@shywolfsanctuary.org.
Meet Sophie Sweets! Sophie is a spayed female red nose pitbull about 5-6 years old. Ms. Sweets was abandoned by her people at the gate. While she doesn’t appear to guard her daily kibble, she has displayed resource guarding of high value items, such as a bone. Sadly, Sophie tested positive for heartworms and she will require treatment, but the rest of her health status is unknown.

UPDATE! A medical fund has been established to cover vetting expenses and treatment for the RGFR dogs! The gaining organization or adopter must no longer bear the burden of medical care, thanks to the generosity of Mike Lehane at Wolfs Reign. Thank you, Wolfs Reign, for this gracious gift!
After faithfully serving animals and the community for over 30 years, Red Gate Farm Rescue (Gordo, AL) is forced to terminate operations due to a serious health crisis on the part of the founder and primary caregiver, Debra Jarrell. Red Gate Farm currently houses thirteen dogs that are all in immediate need of relocation to another no-kill rescue organization, or better, a permanent adopter. Long time rescue partner Shy Wolf Sanctuary Education and Experience Center (Naples, FL) is coordinating the relocation effort on behalf of Red Gate Farm Rescue.
