Meet Smiling Shaggy!

Shaggy is believed to be a 16lb wire terrier bichon mix 10-11yo.

He was found on the streets cold and feeling awful. He had a horrible flea infestation that made it look like his skin was moving. He lost most of his hair and had multiple open puncture wounds- and emotionally he was shut down.

The change in his mental status changed dramatically once he was pulled- with one day of love, a soft bed and a full tummy he was a new man!

Shaggy is fully housetrained, and loves everyone! He loves cuddles and belly rubs, so much so that when you stop he pats you to keep going! He loves walks and visiting new friends along the way.

He is up to date and chipped.
His overall health visit went much better than anticipated:
Severe dental disease- few teeth left
High grade heart murmur
Mild changes in some lab work
Intact
Bilateral ear infections
Skin inflammation/ hair loss/ open wounds

Plan of care:
1/27 dental and neuter
Follow up labs 3-4weeks post op
Ears infection treatment
Skin medicated bath until hair return and skin calmed

He is on standby for earlier surgical date so don’t let it stop you if your interested. Pending surgery will not hinder adoption if adopter local.

Shaggy is looking for a forever home as an only or with other small adult dogs. He loves people big and small.

Shaggy is an amazing senior that was neglected, abused and discarded. He deserves to be spoiled with love and safety- he deserves a home that he can live out the remainder of his life without fear, abuse or neglect.
