Meet Sissy Pup

MEET SWEET SISSY PUP! She is one of a litter of 6 teen pups who were surrendered to a high kill shelter. We provided rescue for Miss Sissy and she needs a foster or forever home when she arrives on July 31st. Sissy pup is bashful and tenderhearted. She is not used to being someone's pet, but melts into your lap within minutes and willingly gives kisses, wags, and wiggles. She is a perfect age to add to a home with children and another friendly, confident dog. As you can see from the photos, she longs for attention and clings to you! She is very sweet and affectionate. We are unsure as to how she would do with cats so slow introductions to any kitties in the home would be advised. Sissy Pup is about 9 months old and is listed as a Feist/Lab mix. She weighs about 35-40 pounds.
A Feist is a small hunting dog, descended from the terriers brought over to the United States by English miners and other working-class immigrants. These terriers probably included crosses between the Smooth Fox Terrier, the Manchester Terrier, and the now-extinct English White Terrier. Their hunting past has ensured they have plenty of energy and loyalty. This can make them fantastic family pets as they are also quite good with kids. Most Feists are fairly quiet dogs, and lack the tendency toward excessive barking demonstrated by some Terrier breeds and other hunting dogs. They are a long lived breed - A healthy Feist can live as long as 18 years.
Sissy Pup is already spayed, current with vaccines and micro-chipped. She has recently tested negative for heart-worm disease and she is on preventatives. If you would like to foster or adopt Sissy when she arrives on July 31st, please submit the adoption application through our website OneLifeToLiveRescue.com. A rescue volunteer will then be in touch with you to answer any questions that you might have and to discuss our ever popular "Foster-to-Adopt" program with you. Sissy's suggested adoption donation is $325 to help offset some of our vetting costs. Thank you for considering a wonderful, rescued, Mixed-Breed dog!! Sissy Pup was adopted today by her Foster-to-Adopt mom and dad. Her new name is "Daisy" and she will be spending the "happily-ever-after" part of her life in Dunmore, PA!!

PLEASE READ: If you are serious about adopting or fostering one of our dogs or puppies, you must first complete and submit an adoption application on our website at www.OneLifeToLiveRescue.com.. The application is ALWAYS the first step in our adoption process. Please do not contact us through pet finder or emails us since that will only be a waste of our time and yours. Much care is taken to include as much information on each dog or puppy as we have on-hand at the time the dogs are posted. Dogs who have adoptions scheduled are marked as "pending" and we will not be taking any applications on those dogs.
We will not adopt a dog to you if all of your current pets are not spayed/neutered. This is a non-negotiable policy. All cats and dogs MUST be up-to-date with their rabies vaccinations, including indoor only cats.
